Stayed at The Eliot Arms with my girlfriend and dog recently for a couple of nights. Fantastic pub with very friendly and accommodating staff. Everyone was friendly and made our stay easy and enjoyable. Food is good and great choice of drinks. Breakfast is cooked well with a good choice. Overall, a very honest pub/B&B which is in a great location for dog walks and country stay.

Jan 2023: Beautiful county pub! Group of 4 for Sunday lunch. Very attentive service, good roast potatoes, massive Yorkshire’s and very colourful veggies! Jan 2024: Went back a year later for 5 people. Really good roast. Standard may have improved! Same waitress as last year, she’s amazing. So attentive. We’ll be back again next year! Jan 2025: We’d had such a good roast the last 2 years we came back a 3rd time. Compared to the last 2 years we were disappointed. The service seemed less relaxed and friendly. The big plate of veggies was no longer part of the meal. We had meat, giant Yorkshire, 2 roasties, one big carrot, winter greens and red cabbage. It just wasn’t the same. There was nothing wrong, just lost its “we must go again” feel. For 2 years this was 5⭐️, but now we’d rather try somewhere else for our annual trip to the Cotswolds.

Had a pint and food unfortunately did not stay there but and its a big but if the food is anything to go by it's a gem. The service is great but the food, home made lamb pie and the lamb shank just fell off the bone one of the best that I have had in a long time just wish that I lived closer it's a must go do eat and be happy 😊👋👋👋👋 to the chef or chef's 10/10 well done....

We went to the Eliot arms for a roast dinner, whilst on holiday, which did not disappoint. We had the mixed meat roast which was very good. As a preference I'd like my potatoes crispier, but really, I can't complain! So much so we would go back when in the area again, and would recommend. The crumble was by far one of the best and most tasty we have had out. The mint sauce was the best we've had out and really added to the meal, I wouldn't usually bother with it, but ate it with everything on my plate as it tasted vibrant and fresh. I love a good selection of veg with a roast and definitely got this at the Eliot Arms. Each food on the plate had it's own flavour and was very tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I like the character of the building which is higgledy piggledy inside with little eating areas divided up nicely. I felt this gives it a cosy quality, which we enjoyed rather than feeling thrown into one massive room. I really valued that they hadn't over crowded the tables and crammed extra in. If you have accessibility needs I would phone in advance as the ground floor had a couple of single steps and I didn't notice a disabled toilet. There was a disabled parking bay in the car park. They have a coffee machine which is good. I would recommend, since the food is of a high standard that it would be nice to offer a good quality hot chocolate. I noticed the famous purple brand beginning with a C but wouldn't say that is a quality of drink which reflects the pub and the rest of their produce. Though I do understand that drinks are often an add on or afterthought for many pubs and restaurants, for me it is the kind of thing I would indulge in after a meal (we were not rushed to leave after eating by staff at all so I don't feel that's the reason). A decent hot drink when staying in a hotel I feel is also a bonus that adds to the comfort. Apologies, the photo I have attached is not the pub's presentation as I'd already begun to eat and took the photo for my mum, not this. I thought it may help people see what's available and how vibrant the veg is.

Absolutely wonderful place! Room was cosy with an extremely comfortable bed. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Plenty of walks and things to do in the local area, would definitely stay again. 👍

We stopped by as a group of 10 children and adults, a welcomed rest after a big walk! On ordering, the gentlemen serving was really helpful with allergies and alternative meals, as they were out of gluten free pasta. It was agreed my son would have a chicken burger with an alternative bun (as it contained egg). I was feeling confident. On serving the food, the lady delivering it brought 2 chicken burgers that looked identical to the table and said 'that's the different one' and promptly left. When she brought the next lot of food, I questioned this as was expecting one bun to be different, her response was very curt and dismissive, as if allergies were an inconvenience to her. My 4 yr old having a life threatening allergy, is not something I take lightly. Eventually, on the 3rd trip back out, once the food was already cold, she confirmed they were identical and both safe, again she was very rude in her tone. I appreciate they were busy, but this is no excuse. Overall the food was good, but I could not relax and enjoy the experience. The lady needs upskilling on her allergy awareness!

It was a lovely hotel, definitely recommend We stay till 12pm because we think check out at 12pm but it’s 11:00, but no one have been rude about this and very polite, thank you Thomas and lady who be very helpful and polite We stay with our dog, they are dog friendly 🧡 We definitely coming back Thank you

Stopped by while walking through the Cotswolds and received really great service. Despite the kitchen closing a little before we walked in, they made an allowance for us and served up a delicious sandwich. There was even a bowl of water served up for the dog! Lovely place, will definitely be back!

Lovely pub, next to the river, lots of outdoor seating. A great place for a quiet pink and a meal. Really nice on the inside with friendly staff and great drinks selection.

Absolute beautiful place, exceptional food with great produce. If staying overnight you MUST try the traditional cooked breakfast it’s amazing and you won’t be disappointed. We will be back again soon for sure 👍👍

A lovely pub/hotel that we came across whilst staying in the area. The best chicken caesar salad I have ever had - presented with a whole "pygmy chicken". Looked amazing, tasted amazing. My husbands steak was also delicious and we shared the sticky toffee pudding. The staff were attentive and friendly, the surroundings and ambience perfect. Definitely a 5 star evening.

Rating of 4.5 out of 5. Great service and attention to detail. Food was extremely good! Rooms are nice, but showers are fairly weak and bed a bit on the lumpy side. Definitely will use again in the future.

Not going to add complaints here just a couple of tips, serve food hot not lukewarm and get some dried porcini mushrooms in the risotto. I think you may need more staff from what others have said.

An amazing 200 yr old building with beautifully decorated rooms. Very clean, comfortable and freshly updated. Breakfast was delicious!

Came too the eliot arms with family booked us in for a table of ten sat us in a lovely quiet corner with a massive rustic table service was brilliant and the food was amazing would highly recommend we would definitely come again

Just called in with a friend at lunch time. Just had a BLT and a couple of pints of cider. Nice place. Good service. Car park a bit on small size. But overall enjoyable. Would like to go again for a meal.

The room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was lovely. However the room was boiling! The was a fan but the windows had security locks so you could only open them a crack. Breakfast was tasty

Staying here as a solo traveller for the Royal International Air Tattoo having come down from Kent for a few days. The fish and chips they serve here is fantastic and the service is brilliant. Friendly, approachable staff and great rooms. Such a relaxed vibe to the place too! Thank you!
